NEED HELP WITH YOUR PRESCRIPTION'S
A few weeks ago, I went to a meeting with my wife to learn just what we as a family could be facing due to her illness. This was one meeting that I was glad I had the time to go to. The gentleman, that was the guest speaker was from The Partnership for Prescription Assistance, as he spoke a light came on in my head my people could use
this. Wait, I know many people who could benefit from this not just my people . As he spoke of their plan and who all knew about the plan right here in Arkansas,
I thought if so many knew then why have those that need this kind of help not know? So many knew but still so may did not know, the old ones that needed their medicine's but also had to eat which do they do with out? The little ones that did without just because their parents could not pay as money was to tight do they pay the rent, buy the prescription, or food for the other children in their care, what do they do? These things happen all too much in this country. And right here we have the way to stop it, so why do they not put an end to it. Because as I have said to my people many times GREED. Man must walk away from that way of life they forget someday they will stand before their Creator, will they stand tall and proud an speak with a straight tongue and say this is what I have done for your people with straight eyes or will they crawl on their bellies and speak with a split tongue as there will be no place for them to hide from his glare. So then let us partner with these people and work to make a difference before our chance to do so is gone, let us walk with those like Montel Williams who is the National Spokesman for the
PPA. I myself can only speak for my family but I know the heart of the people of the Redwolf Band of the United Lumbee Nation and believe this is a good thing for us to partner with. I have spoken with National Head Chieftain Eva Silver Star Reed and she also said this is a good thing. So tell all those that you know if they need help call us and we will give them all the information we have.Helping the people of all colors of man as the creator has told us to do will remain one of the top priorities of the United Lumbee Nation's Redwolf Band
The following is from the PPA please read and tell those in need
Thank you my brothers and sisters,
Chief Kodiak

The Partnership for Prescription Assistance Still Going Strong More than a Year Later
In April 2005, America’s pharmaceutical research companies joined forces with prominent health care, physician, and patient advocacy organizations to launch the Partnership for Prescription Assistance (PPA), the largest private-sector effort to help low-income, uninsured and underinsured patients access their prescription medicines. The PPA is a single point of access to more than 475 patient assistance programs, including 180 of them offered by pharmaceutical companies, and the United Lumbee Nation is proud to be a partner in this important effort to help patients get the medicines they need.In just over a year, the PPA has helped more than 2.5 million Americans. Much of the success is due to the support and commitment of the 1,300 national and local health care, physician and patient advocacy organizations that have partnered with the PPA to help spread the word. “The PPA is an enormous success, and we want to thank our partners for helping to raise awareness about this important program,” said Billy Tauzin, President and CEO of the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America. “However, we realize that millions more patients need assistance. We have set our sights on reaching every person who needs help.” In an effort to reach as many people who need help as possible, the PPA launched the “Help Is Here Express” – two buses crisscrossing the country to educate uninsured and under-insured patients about drug assistance programs – in May 2005 during Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s Cover the Uninsured Week. The buses, which are equipped with computer terminals and telephones to encourage guided on-site access to program applications, bring together trained program specialists with local patients and partners for events at state capitols, state fairs, health clinics and community centers. The bus tour has traveled to all 50 states, and more than 500 cities in the first half of 2006, with plans to visit 1,000 cities by the end of 2006.“Helping 2.5 million people is a tremendous accomplishment. But we are not satisfied and plan to send our buses to even more cities across America in the coming months. To date, we have already traveled over 100,000 miles -- the equivalent of more than 4 times around the world -- helping people in need. But there are still people who need our help,” said PPA National Spokesman Montel Williams.Recently, the PPA unveiled an exciting new feature to the program – information on free health clinics is now available to patients who call the toll-free number or use the Web site. Research indicated that many patients may be eligible for a patient assistance program, but do not complete the application process because they lack access to a physician. The PPA is working with health clinics to help address the problem and to ensure that people in need have access to medical care. Helping the uninsured will continue to be a top priority for the United Lumbee Nation’s Redwolf Band. We hope you can join in our efforts to spread the word about the PPA.
