LIFE WITHOUT CHANGES
Grandfather, hear our pleas.
We are but few within our enemies.
No longer can we stand, for their lies without changes,
so we shout with cries of anger.
As seasons change, we will try too.
Thou we are admired by oh so few.
With no one to help us to end our strife,
so we are on our own through this life.
We are only one of many small nations,
but all have one determination,
that our people have the right to live free
like the trees in the awakening breeze.
So we sit and speak of life's many changes
As thou only we can see that their lies bring no changes.
So we dance and sing and pass down our stories
while we dream of past glories.
If only you would have let us live free
there would have been no need for
Wounded Knee.
